Kyiv has been desperately seeking ways to evacuate the soldiers and thousands of civilians still trapped in the city without much food or aid. Ukrainian forces have held out under weeks of heavy bombardment that has devastated much of Mariupol and prompted international condemnation of Moscow's tactics. “The biggest war crime of the 21st century was committed in Mariupol,” he said. Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko compared the site to the Kyiv ravine where Nazi forces killed an estimated 33,000 Jews in 1941. Ukrainian officials said Thursday that an apparent mass grave in a village outside the devastated city may contain as many as 9,000 bodies. Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed “success” in Mariupol but ordered his forces not to storm the site where the last pocket of Ukrainian resistance in the besieged port city is holding out. If you are still having trouble remembering some controls, what I'd do is screenshot the control layout on my phone to avoid alt-tabbing in and out of game. This live blog is now closed.
#Steel fury kharkov sight control driver
The only controls you need to memorise are the orders for the driver (from other crew members), switching ammo types, opening and closing hatches, and perhaps the "follow road" command. The radio operator is more or less expendable-it's better if he is alive, but he isn't essential to your combat effectiveness like the other four men in a Panzer crew.ġ2. Losing your driver is worth restarting a mission over. If you lose crewmen, you can use Ctrl+ F1 to F5 to replace them, then hitting F1-F5 to return to your normal role. Just keep moving and pray they don't drop a bomb directly on your tank.ġ1. Your tank has enough ammo to complete the objectives, and friendly AI tanks will help you out a lot.ġ0. If you run out of ammo on a mission, there is no resupply. Stay in the gunner's seat, and order your driver to make a short stop with "E" when you are ready to fire.ĩ. You won't be able to complete it otherwise.Ĩ. If he is, and the gun is damaged, restart the mission. If your main gun won't shoot, check that your gunner is still alive. Tanks cannot capture ground in this game.ħ. Try to keep them at least Keep your own infantry alive, because without them, you will not be able to complete some mission objectives. Don't let enemy infantry get close to your tank. You cannot unload a chambered shell, so firing even an AP round at infantry is better than nothing to clear the breech so you can deliver them some HE gifts.Ħ. If you expect to face tanks from the get-go, start with an AP round in the pipe if not, then HE.ĥ. Load a round at the start of the mission, but pay close attention to the briefing on expected opposition. Use HE on AT guns (those things are worse than enemy tanks, in some ways), and AP on tanks, of course. You select ammo types using the number keys. Do button up when in combat, though so that your Commander can keep his head on his shoulders!Ĥ. Not being able to see what's out there will get you killed very quickly. Your visibility in the tank, even in Panzers that have cupolas, is horrible. Don't spend all your time buttoned up (unless the enemy is less than 1.8 km away). Since the commander and driver aren't Siamese twins, these orders won't be instantaneous, but the driver is good about following your orders.ģ. You can make finer adjustments by using "W A S D" to give orders to the driver-go forward (with a couple of speeds of acceleration), stop (and reverse if hit multiple times), turn left/right. You can navigate by opening your map (when in the commander's position), and putting down waypoints. The lack of vision is a real issue, and the AI gunners are inebriated and nearsighted. Unless your driver is killed, you should never need to drive the tank yourself manually. You will spend most of your time in the commander or gunner's position. You should give yourself more credit-I am sure you can pick up things fast enough :)ġ.
